This combination ensures excellent surface finishes and effective chip evacuation in low carbon steels such as 1018 and A36. Its 3.33 reach-to-diameter ratio balances stability and accessibility for detailed work. By reducing vibration and enhancing chip control, this tool supports smooth finishing passes and prolongs tool life. The high flute count and variable pitch help minimize radial stock load, aligning with best practices for finishing low carbon steel. Though lacking a corner radius, edge chipping is mitigated through the synergy of coating and geometry. The TiAlN Extreme coating is not recommended for use with non-ferrous materials, which will cause rapid degradation. This end mill is also not recommended for heavy roughing or interrupted cuts in harder materials where alternate geometries or coatings would be preferable.
