Its 5-flute design paired with a 45° helix angle and TiAlN Extreme coating delivers superior surface finish and wear resistance, especially when machining low carbon steels like 1018 and A36, consistent with recommended finishing applications. The combination of a high flute count and variable pitch geometry reduces vibration and improves chip evacuation, resulting in consistent finishes and longer tool life. TiAlN Extreme coating withstands high temperatures and abrasion, making it suitable for stainless steel, HRSA, and cast iron as secondary materials; however, it is not suggested for use with non-ferrous metals. Avoid employing this tool on non-ferrous materials due to coating unsuitability, which can cause rapid wear and tool failure. The absence of a corner radius limits its use in interrupted cuts where chipping prevention is critical.
