The YG1 07588TE 7/16″ Size, 1″ Length of Cut, 4 Flute, YG TiAlN Extreme Solid Carbide Finishing End Mill delivers a 2.29 rigidity-to-reach ratio suitable for precision milling in free-machining steel. Its dimensions support stable cutting with minimal deflection, improving finish quality in general milling tasks. Combining a 30° helix angle with four flutes and a TiAlN Extreme coating optimizes chip evacuation and tool strength, reducing wear during high-speed steel machining, consistent with best practices for slotting and low carbon steels.
Supplied by Travers, this tool lacks a corner radius, so edge chipping prevention relies on coating and flute design. It is center cutting, allowing plunge cuts and versatile toolpaths. Avoid use on Non-Ferrous (ISO N) materials, since the TiAlN Extreme coating is not a good match and will degrade quickly. It is also less suitable for highly abrasive or hardened materials beyond its specified range.
Not recommended for plastics or non-ferrous metals due to coating limitations, this end mill is a solid choice for steel and cast iron finishing passes that demand good surface integrity and tool life.
