Applications

Designed for finishing stainless steel and heat-resistant superalloys, the YG1 85561TH solid carbide end mill has a 5/32″ diameter and 5/16″ length of cut. Its 5-flute design with a 45° helix angle, combined with the Hardslick coating, ensures excellent surface finish and efficient chip evacuation in challenging materials. The stub length enhances rigidity and control, minimizing deflection during precise finishing passes. This tools combination of attributes improves wear resistance and reduces built-up edge, particularly in stainless steel and HRSA. The high flute count and sharp geometry facilitate superior surface quality while maintaining smooth chip flow, supporting consistent performance in demanding finishing operations. Avoid using this end mill on steel (ISO P) or non-ferrous materials due to unsuitability of the Hardslick coating, which will degrade rapidly. Its design is not intended for roughing or interrupted cuts in unsuitable materials, ensuring optimal tool life and finish when applied within its specified range.
