Applications

The YG1 85570TH solid carbide end mill, measuring 7/32″ diameter with a 3/8″ length of cut, is crafted for precision finishing in stainless steel and heat-resistant superalloys. Its 5-flute design and 45° helix angle provide rigidity and enhance surface finish, especially in applications demanding tight tolerances and smooth finishes. The stub length ensures excellent tool stability and minimizes deflection. Featuring a Hardslick coating, this end mill excels at reducing built-up edge and wear when machining tough materials such as stainless steel and HRSA. The synergy of coating, helix angle, and flute count optimizes chip evacuation and cutting forces, promoting consistent performance and extended tool life. Its center-cutting capability allows plunge cutting and slotting. This tool is not recommended for steel (ISO P) or non-ferrous materials due to coating unsuitability, which can rapidly degrade tool life. The absence of a corner radius means edge chipping prevention depends on coating and geometry, making it less appropriate for interrupted cuts or heavy roughing.
